Physiotherapy FAQs
What can I expect during my initial physiotherapy appointment?
We will ask you quite a few questions during your first appointment. To best understand your needs and lifestyle, we’ll collect information about your background, health goals, medical and injury history, level of physical activity, and general work and family life. This will all take place online or in a private treatment room.
Following these questions, we’ll conduct a physical examination that will involve a thorough assessment of your condition. This may take place on or off of a climbing wall. You will then be provided with relevant treatment options. If a diagnosis is not possible, an appropriate referral will be made.
How long will my appointment be?
Generally, our appointments are between 45 and 60 minutes. Longer appointments may be needed if you have multiple areas that require attention. This can be discussed with your therapist prior to seeing them.
Do I need a referral?
No. If you are seeing us privately, you do not need a referral. However, if you are claiming a rebate for our Physiotherapy services under Medicare, you will require a doctor’s referral. We do not currently manage Workcover, Veterans Affairs or CTP claims.
Do I need to bring anything to my appointment?
Please bring any relevant documentation relating to your health, such as a referral from your doctor, blood test results, X-ray, MRI and scan reports to your first appointment. Please also bring with you a list of your current medications, and medical history (if you have these handy).
What should I wear to my appointment?
Please wear loose-fitting clothing and closed-in shoes that you feel comfortable moving freely in. If we require you to bring your climbing shoes we will tell your prior to your appointment.
Feel free change your clothes in the bathroom at the clinic if you are seeing us on the way to or from work. Rest assured, your modesty will always be respected at Climber Care.
What does it cost? Can I get private health or Medicare rebates?
Our fees vary depending on the type of appointment booked and what service you require. If you have the relevant cover on your private health insurance policy or are eligible for a Medicare rebate, then you will be able to claim online after you have paid our invoice. If you are awarded a rebate, you will only need to pay the gap. To find out how much your insurance will cover, please contact your private health fund directly.
Can I get private health or Medicare rebates on Telehealth appointments.
If you have the relevant cover on your private health insurance policy or are eligible for a Medicare rebate, then you will be able to claim online after you have paid our invoice. Since the outbreak of COVID19, Medicare and most private health funds will provide the same rebate for Telehealth as they do for in-person appointments.
What are my payment options?
We are currently accepting payments via cash or bank transfer.
